Guest lecture EY on "Revenue Recognition" and "The Digital Audit"
As part of the lecture International Accounting (B.Sc.) representatives of EY delivered a guest lecture on May 20th 2019 on "Revenue Recognition" und "The Digital Audit“. At first, Dr. Philipp Gaenslen, partner, Dr. Alexander Eisele, Manager, and Tobias Ritzinger outlined IFRS 15 on revenues with contracts from customers and how this standard must be applied as of January 1st 2018. Practical examples like the construction of a wind turbine helped to further deepen the understanding of the subject. In the second part students were introduced to the future of the audit profession and which role digitalization will play.
